The Guidebook is located in the section under map below.
The place was impeccably decorated and had lots of seating and counter space. The bed was comfy and the hosts went above and beyond with communication, a very helpful local guide, and even a welcome basket. The location is ideal and the private parking is a huge bonus. I had a great stay!
I would recommend staying here! Such a great vibe. The host was great and was super helpful with check in and gave great recommendations for places to eat/ect. It is conveniently located near a lot of fun entertainment and was easily walkable. It was super clean and cozy. I loved all of the fun decor and the laundry accessibility made it even more pleasant to stay here. Like I said before, I can’t recommend this place enough, you won’t regret it!
Love staying at the Dachshund. Pics are what you get. A bit of history, a lot of comfort, clean without feeling pretentious if that makes sense. During the week, it’s quiet and feels private. I could never tell if the adjoining units were occupied. Bedrooms and beds are comfy and well appointed. My sister-in-law and I had a 3-night getaway here. We never felt the least bit unsafe. My second time staying and not my last.
We stayed in the Dachshund and it was wonderful! The quirky and fun decor was just perfect and seemed to go with quirky and fun neighborhood. The location was perfect for walking to area bars, restaurants and Soulard Market. And, in spite of it being in a busy neighborhood, it was surprisingly quiet. Definitely A+ experience!
Neighborhood description
Known as the French Quarter - Soulard is the oldest neighborhood in St. Louis. The historic streets are lined with red brick townhomes, housing a mixture of residents, live music bars, unique restaurants (many of which offer outdoor dining in elaborate courtyards), and bakeries. If you're visiting on a weekend, Saturdays are known for the most popular Farmer's Market in the City!
Conveniently, Soulard is located just five minutes south of the Arch and downtown St. Louis by car. It is also walkable to the adjacent neighborhoods of Benton Park and Lafayette Square. Soulard is also a five-minute drive from Anheuser-Busch Brewery that offers must-see tours and meet and greets with the Budweiser Clydesdales!
Soulard also hosts the 2nd largest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States and a lively Oktoberfest!
Your stay includes a free off-street parking space for your personal or rental car. If you have two vehicles, the space is long enough to fit a second vehicle behind the first. Soulard itself is highly walkable and you will be steps away from restaurants, bars, and coffeeshops/bakeries. On Saturdays, Soulard hosts one of the oldest operating Farmer's Markets in the county. If you need to travel downtown, it is only a five-minute drive by Uber or Lyft. If you're coming here for a sporting event or concert, many of the local restaurants/bars provide shuttles to the stadiums (1860s Saloon and Molly's are two of such establishments, which are within 1-minute walking distance).
