Buena Vista House FLX Located just minutes from Seneca Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes in Western NY State, is a historic home built in the early 1800's. The house which has been completely updated and modernized was originally part of an eight acre estate that was later purchased and owned by the Wellington's. The Wellington apple was a Western NY state varietal that was engineered and grown by Dr. Wellington on the Estate. The home was later purchased by Anthony Shelton a Senior Scientist with Cornell's Agricultural Experiment Station where he and his wife Ann raised their blended family of five children. Ann, a master gardener wanted to continue the beautiful agricultural legacy of the estate and thus designed colorful and exotic gardens with some assistance from a Cornell Graduate Student studying Landscape Architecture. In Dec, 2015 I returned to the area after thirty years of working in the technology industry. I want to share this historic and beautiful treasure and hope you will plan your next week or weekend getaway at Buena Vista House so aptly named in the 1920's by the former owner's son. Personal note: I am a runner, cyclist and love being on the water. Geneva is the perfect place to do anything athletic to include; cycling, hiking, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding or even kite surfing for the extreme athlete. My Inn is minutes from the lake! Just walk out the front door, go left, take a quick right and follow Castle Street down to the waterfront. There you can travel on to tour Seneca Lake wineries, walk along the lakefront or visit historic down town Geneva. If you prefer cycling, take a right at the end of my driveway and you'll almost immediately find yourself on rolling back country roads which are perfect for meandering or pedaling fast for a great workout! You'll fall in love with this beautiful town which sits at the Northern end of Seneca Lake and has become known as the "Heart of the Finger Lakes"
