Stay at Yong’s house was a 3 out of 10. Pros: House is pretty nearby the subway station, it’s a 7 minute walk. Might be good for short stays. Cons: Isn’t suitable for long stays not having a living room area was kind of a deal breaker for me. The front of the house is quite rundown, and I would suggest the host to keep it presentable, as it’s what your guests see first. It’s a really old house, it has a really weird smell upon entering and expect the floor to be creaking at all times, even the mattress. Kitchen is really small and the mini fridge is just not enough for the 3 rooms, you can barely fit your food for one or two days in there. Bathroom is rather small but is not cleaned and used by everyone, so I really didn’t like going in as the trash piled up quickly and had a lot of dirt. The room is small, but would suggest the host to get drawers and furniture to store your clothes and personal stuff because a tiny desk is just not remotely enough. We had trouble with the AC the first days we were in, it was hot and the ac wasn’t reaching the room, and the same thing happened these last days but now the weather was cold, and upon reaching airbnb about this issue the host was passive aggressive. Laundry: although the host offered to wash our clothes I don’t feel comfortable giving out our clothes, so if you have specific laundry methods or the way you like to clean your clothes, you should consider this first. During our stay the bathroom was under reparations for a whole day so I couldn’t even take a shower after a long day of working, and I strongly believe that these repairs should be done when there’s no guests at the time.
