3rd floor, converted attic "Penthouse" apartment is steps away from Downtown Millinocket and all your outside adventures: fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, white water rafting, biking, etc. Close access to snowmobile trails, 2 minute walk to downtown/Marathon, close to Katahdin and Baxter State Park. Can't promise you will see a rainbow out our window, but on a clear day, when the leaves have fallen off the trees, you can see Katahdin! -2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, sleeps 5 -One bedroom w/king size bed -Second bedroom a/twin bed -Fold out the couch for 1 bed and a pull out, new memory foam twin mattress -Full equipped kitchen -Cozy corner room get away stocked with games and books -Non-smoking property -The name of our place is “The Last Hike” in reference to the entrance. There is a picture of the stairs on our site, they are secure but are very steep and slant a little, we just like to make sure all are aware before they come to visit. -The unit has been totally updated on the inside; however, this is a very old house (about 100 years old) and the outside of the house has not been updated. Updating the outside of the house is on our to do list. Please see posted photos of the outside of the house.

Had a great stay! Was a very nice place and would definitely stay there again in the future.
I’m not quite sure how this listing has 5 stars. To start, the walk up to this third floor apartment was treacherous. The pathway was dimly lit and covered in ice; we slipped on it several times. The staircase is literally falling off the side of the building and felt wholly unsafe to climb. We had issues with the keypad but the host was responsive and came up with a key. The main bedroom stunk of cat urine; it was so strong it was nauseating. There were air fresheners strapped under the mattress to try and hide the smell. The sheets were black so we couldn’t tell if they were stained but we decided not to risk it. We didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in potentially dirty sheets so we slept on the floor. We used Clorox wipes that were provided and picked up a disturbing amount of hair and dirt; clearly the floor was not cleaned. If it were not 17F outside, we would have slept in the car but we did not think it was worth the risk in that cold. This listing is unsanitary and unsafe.
Cute little spot very close to downtown Millinocket! We stayed here during the marathon, and it was soooooo easy to get to the race as well as all the pre-race events! Note: they are not kidding about the steep stairs!!
The Last Hike was an excellent base of operations for our visit to Baxter. The space was clean and welcoming and had every amenity to make you feel at home. The kitchen had everything we needed to whip up a meal after coming home from a long day of hiking. The bed was comfortable and having WiFi and smart TVs to be able to put something on was nice. The outside stairs to the entrance were a little scary, but felt plenty secure and it wasn't a problem, especially since we were made aware beforehand by the excellent and proactive communication.
This place was soo cute and we felt right at home!...It was perfect for our stay for our hike...The spot was nice and clean and very cozy...Would definitely reccomend it...Also pet friendly...Truly and enjoyable stay...also a cute little book hideout/gameroom room thats was fun!
