The Design Family Apartment in Leiden was exactly what we wanted. The ground floor accessibility was great! The apartment itself was an experience. Its location in the historic center was ideal with easy access to the grocery store next store, public transportation, and to many cafes, restaurants and shops. With an older exterior you would never expect what is inside. It is fully updated with anything you could want. We made good use of the kitchen which had more than we needed. When it was raining, the kids had board games and loads of viewing options from the projector. Our group was 6 and we had plenty of space. The design of the place is very modern and thoughtful. The art (created by the owners) gave the place a cool vibe. The access to bikes they provided gave us the chance to see the surrounding area in a different way. Ana and Hernando were informative and excellent hosts! We would definitely recommend their place.

The apartment was well equipped and very clean. About 30 minutes by feet from train station, less by bus. In general we liked the place except the toilet. Shower and toilet are in the same room and when you take a shower the floor becomes wet and very slippery since there is no shower tray nor curtain. You must be very careful. There are no windows in the apartment that you can open. We found the rooms humid since there is a central heating in the living room but only electric heaters in the sleeping rooms and if you put the heater to the maximum the power goes out. The hosts were kind and reactive to loose problems.

My children especially LOVED this place because of all the bits of technology. We really enjoyed watching films on the projector. The ground floor location means there is not a lot of natural light but the lighting in the apartment is very good with the ability to dim or brighten most lights and there is a picnic bench outside the front where we were able to sit and have a drink in the evening. It is a 10- 15 min walk into the centre of town and there is an amazing fish place on the corner which does great take aways. The supermarket is just next door and that was really convenient The hosts were really responsive and kind and we really enjoyed staying at this place.
