We enjoyed the peaceful setting and space. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a restful long weekend. We can see that they are making updates to the house and really appreciated those that are already completed. It was unfortunate that we needed to report that a storm window had broken prior to our arrival. Luckily it was just the storm window. A bird must have flown into it, we could find any trace though the ground was snow covered. We were there to attend a winter wedding and were busy with activities for that so we didn’t use any of the outdoor features that are available. It was nice to view the river from the kitchen! Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your home with us. We were comfortable for our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the property. The location was perfect for two adults. The owners were very attentive and always available. It was nice having bedding, towels, kitchen supplies available. The supplied charcoal grill was used often. The deck is a great feature for shade and relaxation. Sitting down by the river and watching wildlife all day is hard to beat (the path down to the river could be tricky for some folks). The owners provided a one-person kayak and large canoe. My wife utilized the kayak to sunbathe and read her book on the river. The river was too shallow to actually kayak, which was disappointing. All your grocery needs and supplies should be available in Escanaba (Meijer and Walmart), 30 minutes from Cornell. Escanaba is a bustling town with many stores and restaurants. We took a few road trips within 30-90 minutes for hiking and kayaking. Northwoods provides trips on the Au Train river, all-day rental for one price, 60 minutes from Cornell. Take a trip to Up North Lodge, in Gwinn, for an amazing rib dinner. There are also many wilderness areas to explore.

Incredible location on the river with immense privacy. Host communicates very well and there is pride in ownership. You will not be disappointed in this stay!!
