Our stay was fantastic. The house was spotless, probably the cleanest AirBnB I have ever booked. The kitchen was stocked incredibly well. Tons of dishes, utensils, etc. Plenty of towels. Lots of books and games. Tons of room and comfortable gathering spaces downstairs from the kitchen to the two living areas to the porches. And a great attic/upstairs spot for kids if you bring them. Host was incredibly helpful with quick responses to questions, recommendations, directions, etc.

Our family of 6 - and dogs - spent Thanksgiving week 2023 at the Dorr House. It was everything we hoped for. The beautifully renovated house is charming - kept the old bones and provided all modern amenities. Beautiful warm light. Beautiful sunsets. Perfect layout for breaking bread, puzzling, and reading from their interesting and eclectic collection of books. We are hikers and explorers, making the location perfect for our twice-daily jaunts which included introducing our 3-year-old grandson to hiking and climbing the trails of Acadia. The nearby causeway provides a beautiful walk into the town of Southwest Harbor. Witnessing the tidal swings- we were there during the full moon - as we crossed the causeway was breathtaking. Low tide graced us with deposits of the outer skeleton of yesterday's sea urchins. And, a huge shout out to Clara who answered all of our seemingly endless questions before we traveled and was there to support us after we arrived.

This home is a perfect getaway. It is conveniently located close to Southwest Harbor, with a fun walk into town. The house itself is gorgeous, well-decorated and perfect for a small to medium sized gathering of friends and family. We were here with 3 couples and 3 babies and felt right at home. Thanks again for sharing this beautiful home with us!

We had a wonderful stay here! Only amazing things to say. All of the formalities were smooth and Clara was very responsive to any question or need (even amidst a hurricane!). We stayed for 3 weeks and some of our favorite things about the home were; - Slow mornings with coffee on the porch, especially when foggy - Watching the kids tumble down the grassy slope and play on the blanket in the back yard - Strolls into town over the bridge and through the forest 'looking for fairies.' - The quiet town in SW Harbor but such easy access to NE Harbor and Bar Harbor which we frequented often - We made large grocery runs in Bar Harbor (or even better pick up on the way from the airport) and enjoyed home cooked meals in the kitchen which was fully stocked - Clara provided a pack n play and high chair The list goes on!! My concern was that SW Harbor was too far away upon booking but it wasn't at all.We actually preferred it to BH which is very touristy - though lovely to visit! Thank you!!
