Our stay at Emerald Isle was exceptional. The property, steeped in ancestral history as a tharavad, boasts a breathtaking view of the river. Special mention must be made of our host, Vijo, whose hospitality truly enhanced our stay. The main allure of this property lies in its stunning riverfront location and the lush green paddy fields adorning the backyard. We particularly relished cycling along the narrow roads, which stretched for approximately 4 km, offering uninterrupted views of the river throughout our journey. Despite the hot weather, the constant and refreshing breeze that swept through the area kept us comfortable throughout the day, adding to the charm of our experience. Thank you, Vijo, for ensuring that our stay at Emerald Isle was nothing short of memorable. We look forward to returning in the future.

Really great stay, hosts were very helpful, food was excellent and the property is stunning. Best part of the stay had to be the Ayurvedic massage by Aswathy though - most relaxing massage I have ever had.

Vinod is a very proactive host. Made sure everything was arranged for us before we arrived. His mom's cooking is amazingly tasty as well as healthy. Also did the boat ride through backwaters and a canal; fully worth it.

Our best stay in India! This is a beautiful, authentic heritage homestay with a lot of heart. The hosts have over 20 years experience welcoming guests to their home and it shows - the owner, Vinod, is clearly passionate about offering a really thoughtful Keralan homestay experience. The caretaker Sam is so kind and attentive and himself has been with the property for over 20 years and so has a wealth of knowledge about it. You really are getting the real heritage homestay experience here - not a corporate copy. The garden is a haven for relaxation and we were astonished by the amount of bird life we saw. It is also full of fruit trees, spices and even a cacao tree! It was great to explore the local area on the bicycles provided - Vinod even helped us reach a remote toddy shop for a really authentic local experience - tasty (and spicy) seafood. The property feels remote and peaceful but an extensive list of activities is available - boat tours, massage, cooking class etc!

One of the best Airbnb experiences I have had till date! Totally worth the price and there is so much to do and see around the property that you wouldn’t feel the need to venture out too far. Vijo, Vinod & Tom were so welcoming, kind and super helpful. Would also highly recommend the authentic home cooked meals that are available on the property.
