We loved our stay at The Sugar Maple! It felt like a home away from home with beautiful scenery. Our puppy loved the freedom of the big open yard. The only complaints we have are about the ant infestation in the kitchen and the uncut grass around the house. The ants got into all of our snacks and we had to throw them all out which was a waste of money and an inconvenience; the ants also made it difficult to utilize the kitchen comfortably. The grass clung to our shoes and pants, and made our puppy more susceptible to fleas and ticks, but other than that everything was great! The host was very responsive and apologized about the ants.

My husband, two pups, and I had a great long weekend getaway at Chris and Lisa’s place. Exactly what we were looking for…a peaceful, nature-infused retreat. We enjoyed taking nature walks through the trails that were steps away from our door. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our dogs to run around and play in while we soaked in the hot tub or grilled dinner. The bed was an extremely comfortable queen bed, one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in on a vacation. The bathroom was excellent with a great shower, and the Bluetooth mirror was a fun touch! Lisa was very responsive with our communication and even gave us a heads up to check our dogs for ticks after our nature walk as they had found one on their dog. Very thoughtful hosts. Loved the kitchen that was fully stocked with more than what we would ever want or need to cook our own meals. Highly recommend staying here, and we plan on returning.

awesome spot. you could just post up here for a few days to escape. was about an hour drive to Hocking hills.
