Great stay overall! Lovely high-end touches. Only a few hiccups that were resolved quickly (dead remote batteries, patio furniture thrown everywhere due to wind on arrival, wrong entry code). Other than that, location was impeccable. Just be aware it's 2 units, but it's right in the description. Love the 2 hot tubs, one per unit, and that there were TV's at the hot tub!

Great location! Less than a block from the beach, had an absolutely great time. Had all the space we needed for our celebration and had everything we needed to use the spaces such as kitchen appliances.really enjoyed ourselves. We didn’t do d a check out list so would recommend that. Otherwise it was a great rental.

There are two condo units, front and back, at 128 29th St, Newport Beach, CA hosted by Vacasa. We booked both the front and back condo units for a 3-day weekend for a group of 15 people to celebrate my 55th birthday. The condo units were booked 3 months in advanced so Vacasa had plenty of time to check and verify that everything was working properly before our arrival. Unfortunately, Vacasa didn't do that. We discovered so many issues that ruined our stay as planned and most of us ended up leaving early on Sunday morning. Not only that, Vacasa showed no urgency at all in resolving the issues once we had communicated the issues on our arrival. Due to the nature of our jobs, some of us had to work remotely on the weekend. That means being able to connect online with the laptop. When we checked in on Friday, we sent Vacasa multiple messages and called Vacasa multiple times asking for the Wi-Fi password for the back condo unit, Vacasa insisted that it's the same Wi-Fi password as the front condo unit. We used it but couldn't login. We communicated that to Vacasa and Vacasa said they will send someone out ASAP. We waited until 2 PM Saturday afternoon and still didn't hear back from Vacasa so we called Vacasa again. Vacasa finally sent someone out an hour later, delivering the correct Wi-Fi password for the back condo unit. As it turned out, the front and back condo units use different Wi-Fi passwords. So we were without internet access for a day in the back condo unit. We had planned to do a lot of cooking at the condos so we did a lot of Asian grocery shopping locally in the Santa Ana area before checking in. Due to a lot of issues with the kitchen, we ended up either eating out or ordering food to go for our entire stay and had to throw some of our grocery away before we left. The back condo unit is bigger than the front condo unit with more amenities and has a big dining table so we do all our gathering in the back condo unit, especially for cooking and eating. Because the kitchen sink drain was clogged and the garbage disposer was not working, we couldn't prepare and cook anything. The garbage disposer for the kitchen sink was not working from day one on Friday when we checked in. We called Vacasa to communicate the issue. Vacasa said they will take a look when they come out to resolve the internet access issue. Vacasa didn't send anyone out until Saturday afternoon. All Vacasa did on the Saturday afternoon visit was to verify the issue. Once Vacasa verified the issue, Vacasa said they will send out a plumber the next day. The plumber didn't show up until late Sunday afternoon. By the time the kitchen sink drain clogging issue was resolved by the plumber, most of my friends have already left. When Vacasa came out on the Saturday afternoon to debug the internet access issue, we told them that microwave LCD display is broken and that we couldn't set the timer. Vacasa just ignored it completely and said it won't be fixed. Basically, other than the fridge, the kitchen was rendered useless to us during our stay. We couldn't cook or warm anything until the 3rd day for a 3-day weekend booking. There were other issues as well beside the various kitchen related issues. There was no DirecTV in the living room when we checked in on Friday. When Vacasa came out to debug the internet access issue on the Saturday afternoon, they debugged their entertainment system hidden behind the black screen and discovered that there was no HDMI connection from the DirecTV receiver to the TV. Vacasa then took an HDMI cable from another TV in another room to connect the DirecTV receiver to the TV. But because the HDMI cable is too short, they had to connect it outside dangling in the open. The central A/C in the family/dining room area was not working so Vacasa left a portable A/C and a fan in the family/dining room area. However, there was no connection for the A/C hot air exhaust in the window. The condo units are not as new as they look in the photo. Most of the window handles are broken. The carpet was very filthy. We could feel the stickiness walking on them. After discovering so many issues, we didn't even bother to check out and use the remaining amenities like the spa. Most of us ended up leaving early Sunday morning. It was a complete disaster for us. We had a big plan to celebrate my 55th birthday. And the fact that we couldn’t do any cooking just ruined everything. Vacasa’s response to the communicated issues was horrendous. Every time we called or sent a message, it’s a different person responding and he/she will ask us to repeat the same info over and over again. Their ticket tracking system is pathetic. We had asked for a partial refund and they have not responded yet. I will never stay at any property managed/hosted by Vacasa again. And I would recommend anyone against doing so. Every time you have an issue, you have to contact their corporate number. They then have to find a local staff to handle the issue and that takes forever. Their response time is pathetic. Have they done their job and check the property before my check-in, they would have discovered all these issues but they didn’t.
