We were a large family group and this house was absolutely perfect! It was everything that I hoped it would be. The living room was huge with an enormous picture window looking out over the sea. We watched a resident seal and enjoyed the lifeboat practice on Wednesdays. The living room table giant and made every meal a special occasion. We absolutely loved the location. The sea was a few metres away. We did fishing on the beach and jetty nearby, cliff walks behind us and there was a short walk into a town with some interesting shops and plenty of cafes! We went to the cinema in the theatre one evening and played free pool in local pub. Our grandson enjoyed one stop on the steam train and loved the sandy beach The Square and compass Pub was worth driving to for pies and pasties, with lots of walks from there including a fossil beach. I would prefer to keep this place a total secret (we want to go back) but if you need a large space this is the best! Parking was fine at Easter.

Elements of Dolphin House flee it a stunning property to stay in for Swanage. Rooms at the front of the house have fabulous views over the bay towards Old Harry's Rocks, Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight. In addition the house is more than amply provided for a large group to stay in with two dining areas and lots of really comfortable seating including the windows viz views above. The house has been really tastefully decorated too the trusting owners have left interesting books and great artworks for all to enjoy. It really is beautiful inside and out. However it would be unfair to potential guests not to mention the arrangement with the permanent community. Understandably there are many rules limiting the impact of your stay on the ground floor flat and the neighbours in the terrace. Clearly there have been issues caused by noisier guests in the past that have caused friction. This could be interpreted as feeling unwelcome and resented. Lack of outside space is also problematic.

The location was idylic with stunning views. Kitchen is well equipped along with laundry facilities. The property although clean with plenty of space for everyone is dated with the ground floor bathroom needing work.
