The location was amazing. It's not far from town, but it felt very secluded and quiet. The river runs right by the house. The main space (kitchen/dining/living room) is awesome. The pool table and fireplace got a lot of use. The only complaint was not having a TV in the main room to watch football (we were there over Thanksgiving). Every bedroom having its own bathroom (albeit a little small in some of the rooms) is always nice. Overall, a great place to spend time with family and we would definitely rent it again if we decide to go back to the area!

Such a peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting. Waves of nostalgia in every nook and cranny of this house. Our family thoroughly enjoyed admiring the pictures, decorations, books and furniture! Preparing meals in the kitchen was an absolute treat. We have never stayed in such a well-equipped kitchen. The serving platters, cooking utensils, cookware and glassware were enjoyed by all! The home was clean and so peaceful. The fireplace was just icing on the cake! Everyone enjoyed our family trip and we hope to return!

This villa/lodge was one of the most memorable places I’ve ever stayed. It was perfect for our family, as there is plenty of room to spread out. The property is beautiful and access to the Tuckasegee River was amazing. The kitchen was very well stocked and made cooking very enjoyable. I cannot wait to book another trip here.

The lodging and property were beautiful, private and allowed plenty of space for our big family to enjoy even in bad weather! The pool table and fireplace were a hit with the whole family. We cooked multiple meals in the kitchen and on the grill/Blackstone. It was very well appointed and great for cooking! The host was very accessible and accepted our stay with very little notice after our first booking had a pipe burst in the cold weather. The town of Sylva NC was a pleasant surprise and we never had a bad meal while we were there! There were some maintenance issues with 3 toilets and 1 shower that seem to have carried over from a previous review. While they weren’t a big deal, they will need to be addressed if a group stays there that isn’t comfortable changing bathrooms. It was a premium cabin with just a few nagging issues. Overall I wouldn’t have been bothered by the issues other than we paid a premium price and would have expected everything to be fully functional.
