We visited Forge Cottage in Helmsley over the New Year and we certainly weren’t disappointed. We were 4 adults but the cottage sleeps 6 with well fitted out bedroom’s and very comfortable beds . The sitting room/dining room was cosy and the log fire gave us extra ambiance. The kitchen had all the appliances, crockery glasses etc that we needed although it was our first venture using a Rayburn stove and it took a little getting used to . We would certainly recommend Forge Cottage for its proximity to Helmsley and also the East coast. A great find , we will return .

We spent a very enjoyable week at Forge Cottage. The cottage is excellent and has a very homely feel to it, with everything provided that is needed for a relaxing holiday. It is also well located, being just a short walk from Helmsley town centre. David is an excellent host and he stayed in touch before and during our stay to check that we were OK. Helmsley and the surrounding area are beautiful with lots of historic sites and attractions to see and wonderful scenery to enjoy.

I cannot recommend David’s place enough. Our stay was amazing from start to finish and couldn’t have wished for a better location, within 5 minutes walk of the town square. The house and gardens are beautiful and we were extremely comfortable for the length of our stay. Very toddler friendly too. I’m in all, an incredible week!

Wonderful stay in Forge Cottage - perfect for the family, walkable to town, comfy beds, spotlessly clean characterful cottage. David was a great host - really responsive.
