Our stay at Hop Pole Barn was wonderful, helped by some gorgeous spring weather. It was fun being at the edge of an orchard and with views across to the Thames estuary. Evenings and mornings in the sitting area were spectacular. There is a wide range of walking to suit all levels of fitness available, and the Saxon Shore pathway was brilliant fir a run or two. Lots of RSPB sites very nearby and a range of things to do with a short drive. The barn is small but very clean, cosy, comfortable and well equipped. The shower was lovely too. It can be a bit breezy outside at times. Caroline was a brilliant host and available with help or advice very quickly. Thank you.

great place to stay for some peace and quiet. The cabin is perfectly setup to get away from it all. beds are good and shower was great and theres a nice friendly pub within walking distance. would definitely stay again. Caroline is really responsive to all messages and left a great information pack. thanks for the stay!

We wanted to explore the Hoo peninsula, an area we had never visited before. The Hop Pole Barn turned out to be an ideal base for the purpose. The house is just outside Cooling village (where the Horseshoe and Castle does excellent meals) but was in a quiet and secluded spot, very private. The barn is very light and comfortable with a splendid view out over the marshes on one side and the orchard on the other. It is well equipped and has comfortable beds. We were welcomed by a handsome and tasty bowl of apples and pears from the orchard as well as milk in the fridge. There are fine walks from the front door and it’s a welcoming place to return to. It is also convenient for the Medway towns and London. Highly recommended!

Thanks to Caroline for making our stay so great! This is a smashing little property, in a lovely location on the edge of the north Kent marshes. The local information provided in the folder in the cottage is brilliant, so helpful to have the maps and information on walks etc. Lovelt welcome pack too.
