Bicheno is a small fishing village on the East Coast of Tasmania famous for its scuba diving crayfish & abalone and an abundance of underwater life. There is a hugh population of fairy penguins nesting in the entire beachfront area & Diamond Island at Redbill Beach. Watersports from swimming scuba diving fishing surfing paddleboarding dependent upon sea conditions dominate water activities by locals and visiting guests alike. Aspley & Freycinet National Parks are close by for Hiking Camping Activities. The entire East Coast offers a hugh selection of beach walks and hiking tracks in the National Parks for different age groups dependent upon personal fitness levels. Local seafood product is readily available at our Gulch Restaurants and takeout venues! Lobster Shack at our Boat Ramp is the Favourite. Waubs Bay lookout is a must to appreicate the views of Bicheno Waubs Bay The Gulch & the mountains of the Douglas Asley National Park. The Waterhole Walk in the Aspley National Park is 20 minutes drive from your holiday unit. Drive north from Bicheno Turn left at the Golf Club Bicheno is flat and the foreshore walk is well sign posted and can be walked from Redbill Beach all the way around to the Blowhole and back. Walking at around 10pm plus at night gives you the chance to view penguins on the foreshore walking track especially in the breeding season. Infra Red light only should be used so as not to alarm our penguin colony.

Our small beachside village is perfect for walking bike riding with easy access to all beaches. Redbill Beach is 3 minutes walk from your hosts business front gate.
