Of all the places where I've stayed, I have never done a review but had to make an exception for Cher's beautiful property and for Cher, who was a wonderful host. We loved the house and Cher really goes above and beyond as to the amenities, including leaving food and fresh flowers. We met Cher when we arrived and she was so friendly and hospitable and gave us lots of information about the house and Boerne. The house was pristine and is simply incredible with beautiful vintage furnishings and chandeliers-by far the best airbnb property I've ever stayed in. We will definitely be back, as much to enjoy staying in the house as to revisit Boerne.
The Frederick is better than advertised. Walking distance to town. Comfortable beds. Modern rain shower with additional handheld. And great touches placed ahead of our arrival made it even more special. Cher has certainly earned her SuperHost status. We loved our stay and hope to come back again in the future.
Cher was extremely responsive and went the extra mile to host us with excellence….even making reservations at a nearby, walkable restaurant for us. We even had family issues and had to reschedule….she was very accommodating. Her attention to detail inside the home with a fruit tray and chocolates was much appreciated after traveling. I’ve stayed at air bnbs all over the us and the uk, Cher is truly a super host!! The house….comfy beds, fantastic sheets, great kitchen, perfect location!! We might make this place a yearly stay!!
This reservation originated with all 5 stars until a few days into the reservation the owner, Cher, clearly communicated to me that my handicapped mother was not welcome back to stay after her first visit and was not allowed in the main house because of her being in a wheelchair. This was shocking news and quite hurtful. Being outright discriminated against provided us no choice but to leave her property much earlier in the stay than we had booked. Once we moved out and notified her we could not stay under her conditions the remaining days (21 to be exact at $250/night), Cher did not offer even so much as an apology and certainly not a dime of our money back - totaling $5,250 (not including the hundreds of dollars I paid in fees/taxes/cleaning/etc. to Airbnb. I have given her several weeks to make this right before posting this review and have received not one word from her. Obviously, this case has been escalated with the discrimination policy department within Airbnb. It’s too bad Cher is unable to right the wrong that happened in our case and learn a good lesson from it. Telling a guest who paid good money for the stay that their handicapped Mother is not welcome is a disgrace and she should know this as she had divulged to me her own mother was in a wheelchair. She has had an opportunity to make this right and she has refused to do so. My only hope now is that Airbnb follows through and provides me a refund, although $1,400 of it I paid her directly with a check - so I’m sure I won’t see any of that money. I found out later that is against policy too, to ask for money outside of the Airbnb app. I guess I learned a hard lesson there too.
