This place is magical. We have stayed in many, many Airbnbs and this is probably the most special place we have stayed. We were here for a month and cooked dinner almost every night, the kitchen has everything you need. It is a large house and fully air-conditioned. Very comfortable beds. But it is the outside that is the best part! We started each morning with 2 hours of coffee drinking and bird watching - the trees are full of colourful birds! Behind the house is jungle and we saw a sloth climbing a tree with her baby. There is a huge patio perfect for yoga and we even used the outdoor pizza oven twice. We both did several Zoom calls from the house, the Internet is really good. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the beach, a 7 minute walk to town (the grocery stores are well stocked) and we spent many afternoons in the crystal clear Rio Claro river. Karla is probably the most responsive host we have ever had, she was lovely.

We had the most amazing time in Pavones at Karla’s. She was the best host full of information about the local communities and activities. She was extremely communicative and helpful. She even offered to get on the phone with our car rental agency when we were having difficulties after landing in San Jose. the wildlife was amazing and the proximity to both the jungle and the beach was incredible. We especially enjoyed our evening making pizza in the wood fired pizza oven. The local restaurants that Karla recommended did not disappoint. We had the best meal at Carmelitas after it was recommended by Karla. This house is a gem and we can’t wait to come back!! Thank you for everything!!

We can’t express how much we enjoyed our time at Karla’s home in Pavones. It was a perfectly-sized space for our family group of 4. The casa is gorgeous and located in a sweet tico neighborhood that’s a short walk to the point and all that Pavones has to offer. The property is right next to the jungle, and we got to see toucans and other tropical critters from the patio most mornings (we didn’t spot Oswald, the sloth, and her baby tho!). Finally, Karla’s recommendations and connections were absolutely fantastic—we met several locals and got the true Pavones experience. We can’t wait to return! Thanks for making our first CR trip so special, Karla!!

One of my favorite Air Bnbs I’ve ever stayed in! Karla is an amazing host and gave us many excellent recommendations. The house is convenient to the surf, the grocery store, and local restaurants but is tucked away and private. We loved spending our mornings on the covered outside deck looking for toucans and other jungle creatures. We also took note of all of the kid accessories for families traveling with children. The stocked kitchen made cooking a breeze and we also got to use the pizza oven. Highly recommend!
