A lovely and comfortable country retreat,yet only a short 20 minutes drive to Bath. Excellent pub with great food,less than 250 metres away.

As the other reviews say this is an old house with a lot of stuff so not the cleanest. Lots of cobwebs and spiders however everything that you might use was clean. Ie bathrooms kitchen beds etc. the kitchen cupboards didn’t all fit properly and the oven started to come out the casing when we opened the door. A fuse tripped when we used the iron and the en-suite bath doesn’t drain properly so you shower and bathe at the same time! The house was comfortable though and the garden a beautiful sun trap to sit in. It was certainly quirky. I hadn’t realised it was an upside down house which with a 1 year old wasn’t relaxing. The owner showed us in and round and was friendly. The fire was made up incase we wanted to use it. It was a hot weekend so we didn’t but a lovely welcoming touch. If you accept this is an old cottage and it is what it is then I’d say give it a go. We enjoyed our stay.

It's a charming little cottage, around 400 years old, full of history and character, but badly in need of TLC and a thorough clean. Friendly and communicative host who we met at the nearby pub and drove with us to the house and showed us in. It was cosy and well enough equipped (although inexplicably they don't provide towels); but in a pretty terrible state of repair overall, with broken fixtures and fittings, including on walls, doors, drawers and units; damp, loose and even rotten floorboards in places, lots of old clutter in cupboards and in the garden and cobwebs everywhere. I appreciate a house this old isn't going to be spotless or in perfect order, but we were pretty disappointed as it could be so much better.

This is a very nice place to enjoy and relax on a short stay in the countryside. Very well equiped, specially the kitchen (you can tell someone who really liked cooking had lived in this place), even with board games and toys for toddlers. Glynn kindly provided us with towels, as we missed the warning in the booking description that they do not provide them due to COVID-19, a policy a bit out of date in our opinion. A few things were not working, but they had other alternatives which kept the place still fully functional.
