When we first stumbled upon this flat on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. We thought that There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Angela and caretaker Samuel are the most thoughtful, gracious host in our favourite vacay gateway Shillong. He provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around. The flat is just perfect! Kitchen is compact and contains everything one needs. The bed is comfortable, bathroom and terrace are excellent. This apartment is incredible with scenic view. Angela had excellent restaurant recommendations and was of great help. She went way beyond to make our long-weekend comfortable and memorable. Angela was an amazing host. Stayed at the place for 1 night each, twice. Right from moment of booking to checking out was a smooth and hassle free experience. As soon as booking was confirmed, Angela reached out with clear instructions about how to get to the property and even shared local recommendations. There was a re-route on the main road on the day we were checking out and she proactively shared the news and alternate route recommendations when she came to know about it. She was very friendly and was pleasant to interact with. The caretaker Samuel also is a joy to talk to and he'll help out in anyway he can. And the breakfast that is served, despite being toast+eggs, is very well prepared. Well toasted breads/sandwiches with some delicious omlettes. This place is totally recommended. In case you are not great with following maps or route instructions or if you are a new driver, the place might be a bit hard to find. Otherwise, everything is amazing and totally worth 5 stars!
Had a great experience at Angela's Old House Homestay. Picture perfect surroundings and easily accessible to most touristy areas in Shillong. Worth the price.
