Dan and Pat are the NICEST hosts a guest can ask for! They live a few feet away from the space, so when my husband and I pulled up, they came out to greet us. They pet our dogs/chatted with us about their lives there in Uvalde. They were extremely accommodating, and ensured that we knew that we could call on them for anything. The bunkhouse is adorable and comfortable! We were a group of 6 adults from San Antonio who just wanted to escape the city life for a weekend to enjoy the peace and quiet in nature. The outdoor kitchen is well stocked and was so cute! Their goats are also adorable, and Pat made sure to take me to go and meet them as I am a huge animal lover. We had a lovely thunderstorm the second night we were there, and sitting dry and comfortable on the porch while the rain was coming down was one of the most coziest feelings ever. The property is beautiful and peaceful, and there was water in the dry Frio river. 10/10 will book again!

Great spot for a quiet weekend. We met family here for the eclipse and it was perfect. More than enough space for 4 adults, and the fenced in porch was a bonus for us to relax on with our dog. Pat and Dan were kind and responsive during our stay.

We stayed Easter weekend and there was not too many people, it was very quiet!! The river was great and the bunkhouse was cozy and a relaxing place to get away! There is no cell service but they do have WiFi, which was ok and just strong enough for us to check emails and send texts. If you are the type that cannot be away from your phone, we recommend a signal booster. For us, it was not an issue, we enjoyed disconnecting from the rest of the world for a couple days!! Dan & Pat were very kind and helpful any time we needed anything!! Do make sure you take everything you need for your stay because it is about 30 minutes from Uvalde. They do have dishes, pots and pans, some seasonings and of course necessities!! The kids loved the animals and that they got to pick their own eggs!! lol

We had the best time! It’s very quaint and private! We loved seeing the horses, goats, and longhorns. The river was pretty dry, but we found the perfect pocket that had just enough cold and refreshing water to float and relax. Dan and Pat were wonderful, greeted us every morning and asked if we needed anything. We had everything we needed for a perfect weekend away from the city. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a weekend getaway!

Very peaceful and relaxing getaway from day to day life. Dan and Pat were great hosts, especially with our kids. They allowed them to feed their chickens and pet their goat. We loved the scenic sky at night, we definitely don't get to see that many stars in the city. Very accomadating and friendly hosts. We did travel during a severe drought in the area but were still able to have fun. They communicated with us about the drought and were willing to work with us if we decided to change our plans, we were glad we didn't. Will definitely make another trip.
