We (family of four, two kids aged 6 and 9) had an amazing stay - the villa is enormous, with great facilities and well looked after. The pool was great, and the basement games room/gym/third bedroom a real bonus. Plaka is a short walk, and we ate there 5 out of 6 nights - Elpis and Takis are recommended. Soula was a great host, incredibly responsive and helpful. All in all, hard to fault - wish we could have stayed longer!
Lovely villa in a quiet spot in Plaka only 5 mins walk to the town square and several restaurants. The beach in Almyrida is lovely and 5 mins drive or 15-20 mins walk away. The villa was clean, comfortable and the pool area with views made for enjoyable days lounging in the villa. The downstairs room with pool table, big TV and gym an added bonus.
beautiful villa of a very high standard, excellent outdoor area with lots of places to sit and relax, a very short walk to the village of plaka with casual drinking and dining options and a great atmosphere. Incredibly accommodating host who met us at the airport with a car and provided many complimentary refreshments upon arrival which was very thoughtful! would absolutely recommend!

Plaka is a small and one of the most traditional villages in Apokoronas area. It stands on a low hill, less than a kilometer from Almyrida. It has an old well-retained culture, picturesque slip-roads and rocky beaches with sea-caves. The caves of the area amount to 215.Plaka is a friendly little village, set out in a horseshoe shape on the hillside, with an excellent view of Almyrida and of course Souda Bay and the azure Sea of Crete. There is a lovely main square which is the focal point of the village, where one can find cafeterias and kafeneia. In the local shops and tavernas you will find very good local wine and food. Plaka is ideal for people who really want to relax on their holidays and enjoy nature and the less touristy side of Crete, without being too far from the larger tourist resorts such as Kalyves, Georgioupolis, Rethimnon and Chania.
