We are a family of 5 with adult children who thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Boathouse. Elaine was very helpful with detailed information prior to our arrival which put our minds at ease. The property itself is delightful and the pool has now been divided in two so there is complete privacy between the two neighbouring homes which I think would make a big difference when booking. There are a few short steps to the beach which is beautiful with proper surf but you can still go safely into the sea. The manager and chef were incredibly helpful, courteous and a pleasure to have on site. The chef took our suggestions and turned them into amazing meals which were a treat every time. He also managed to work out the portions correctly so we didn't feel guilty not finishing every delicious thing he brought to the table. I hope we will be back!

The Boat House is a perfect place for a family holiday. Bedrooms are spacious & comfortable. Sitting areas well furnished both indoors & out. Lovely private pool & garden with easy beach access. The staff are all wonderful & looked after us beautifully. The chef discussed what meals we fancied, shopped & prepared accordingly & coped with a fussy 12 year old. He was also happy to demonstrate some dishes when asked & to discuss spices. The location is ideal - a bustling town just outside the gates with ATMs & a decent supermarket. A choice of bars & restaurants within easy walking distance. The next door bay of Hiriketiya is also walkable - some of us walked, others preferred a tuktuk for 500 lkr (£1.25). The surfing was great & there is a good choice of restaurants. House Manager Sadeep was a source of knowledge & booked a great game park trip for us & sorted taxis for our return to the airport. All in all we had a fabulous holiday. I would highly recommend the Boat House.

Such an incredible property, every element has been thought through carefully and the view onto the beach is spectacular. The team that run the property including the chef are first class - so helpful, kind and astute enough to give you privacy to enjoy the villa. The villa is also ideally located from excellent local restaurants and an idylilc surf beach. Such a perfect holiday, we will be back again.

We had a wonderful time in the Boat House with our two children. It was the perfect end to a two week trip around the island! The staff took great care of us and fullfilled every wish (organizing a driver, buying souvenirs and groceries for us, helping with the laundry, late check-out …). I would recommend this to everyone who wants to relax at the end or beginning of a round trip.
