So happy we stayed at Michael’s place for a month while we were visiting our daughter close by! We slept very well there. The bed was great and it was very quiet. We felt right at home, liked the cozy gas fireplace, and pretty courtyard! Most days it was warm enough to sit outside during the day. There’s a lovely gas fireplace outside and grill but we didn’t use it as it was January and we felt cozier inside at night. Michael was a great host, very generous, and very interesting to talk to! We hope to be able to stay there again when we visit our daughter. A quiet oasis in a busy city. Parking is one step outside the private entrance door!

We loved our stay with Michael! Super friendly host, beautiful home and outdoor space! We will definitely miss this Airbnb and our Host! Stayed here while apartment hunting in Long Beach, we really enjoyed getting to know San Pedro. Great location. Thank you Michael!

Truly sad to leave this haven! It was a perfect spot for my small dog and me during our month-long stay. The space itself is very roomy and well-appointed. You have everything you need in the kitchen, tons of books, and a great neighborhood for walks. The courtyard space is shared with the other listings, but everyone kinda keeps to themselves so I had tons of chances to enjoy the fire pit and lounges. The grill and small patio were perfect for staying in, and bed is very comfy. The heater is such a cool feature and works so well! It’s also very easy to click on which was nice. I was there on some hotter days and it stayed perfectly cool inside. You do hear some noise if someone is upstairs, to be expected, but I couldn’t hear anyone speaking or their tv or anything so all in all a very quiet spot to relax! Michael was an excellent host and gave great local recommendations as well. I can’t wait to return!

Overall pretty decent place. Very close to a lot of food, San Pedro’s downtown area, and the coast only a few minutes away. The place is very private tucked away from the streets. There are about 3 other tenants on the property as well in their own little house but everyone keeps to themselves. This unit is the bottom half of a duplex so you’ll occasionally hear the upstairs neighbors, as expected. The unit can get a little tight sometimes as far as space but it’s a good value for what you get. There is an enclosed private patio, as well as a fire ring in the common area which was a great little space. Really our only complaint would be the space was pretty dirty when we first got there on the floors and surfaces and a lot of hair on the bed. Other than that, not a bad stay!

My partner and I stayed several months (longer than expected) at Casa Abuela. It was so peaceful and cozy! There was an outdoor area with a firepit and a waterfall and an enclosed patio space where my cat loved to sit. We loved using the gas-powered fireplace inside to heat the apartment! It really felt like a home away from home. Michael was so kind and funny the few times we did see him. There was a library of books including many classics that we explored a little. The kitchen was great for cooking and included many appliances and pots and pans and there was a TV for watching movies. We will come back to visit San Pedro, what an interesting place with so much history and character. We will miss being so close to the beach. Thank you for hosting us for this extended stay!!
