I had such a lovely stay at Lucy’s, I turned up very tired and quite sweaty after a long day cycling. Lucy was so welcoming and friendly, with great local recommendations. I even had a lift into town for dinner to save my tired legs! The house is spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast of homemade granola and bread was filling and certainly fuelled me up the next few hills. I was even packed off with some fruit for my journey, Lucy helped me with some great local knowledge to make sure I had a lovely route for my next day of cycling. I would highly recommend staying here.

Uplands is a lovely place to stay. A perfect 'home away from home'. Lucy and Jeff were brilliant from the off; they made sure I had all the details I needed and offering local advice and directions before I arrived. The room was really clean and homely, and the facilities great. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, even driving me to and from the best fish and chips place in town for my dinner! The breakfast was really delicious with home made bread and granola. Great people to meet with some wonderful stories of their adventures. Highly recommended.

Where to start...Lucy and Jeff are endlessly thoughtful, generous and attentive. They offered to pick me up a 30 minute car ride from their home at the train station to save me an extra hour of train. And this although they knew I was coming in with my bike. Then after a train mishap, I didn’t get in until 1:00 am although I was originally planned to arrive 3 hours earlier but Lucy waited for me anyway and drove me back to her house. Their house is beautiful and super clean. The room and private bathroom were great and the bed was so cozy and comfortable, I slept like a log. In the morning, Lucy made me an amazing breakfast and drove me to the start of the Tarka trail. I am so pleased and so grateful that I stayed in their charming home. Really can’t recommend enough!
