I am retired and have rented this house as a registered B & B in Newport, RI. Additionally, the home can be rented in its entirety which it often is to sailing teams or professional organizations. This home is conveniently located on the water and is an 8 minute walk to the wharfs where you can enjoy many of the finest restaurants, shopping, sailing and many other activities. I also enjoy all of the best Newport has to offer year round from the cozy, snowy, wintry nights in Dec and Jan to the Folk festival, Jazz festival in July. I am an avid reader who enjoys, novels by Salinger as well as biographies of people ranging from Sailors to Presidents to even Joan of Arc, one of my favorites. I enjoy cooking for my guests and in general have a few dinner parties each season. Friends and family are important and one specific time Thanksgiving is a week long event in this house with abundant food and laughter. Gardening is my moment to reset and restore from a very busy life style...the lovely gardens bring great pleasure while having early morning coffee. Enjoying a walk a few times a week and the gym twice a week is another nugget. Having an art history background, as well as, historic preservation; I restored this ca. 1723 house for which I received the preservation award...it is therefore logical to assume I take significant interest in the appearance of this home. Travel is my personal passion and I have traveled all over the world and love to hear of other adventures that my guests have enjoyed.
