It’s a cute house, however it was described as peaceful when we booked and this is what we expected (we see they removed this wording from the listing after we complained). The holiday was spoiled for us by noise from the pig shed across the road, both the from pigs themselves and from the music the workers play all hours of the day and night that’s clearly audible in the garden. We were also pretty disappointed that the neighbour’s dog barks endlessly if you dare to step outside. On the plus side, it’s an awesome location & the gardens are lovely.
We had the best time here, the kids have not stopped talking about our magical escape to the norfolk countryside and after reading the visitor book, I can see why they get repeat stays ! An amazing holiday location, the house is stunning and so homely, it really feels like home for the duration.
Loved the aesthetic - felt like a child going to stay with a stylish yet eccentric great aunt, who has her own means but no one is quite sure how. The gardens and surrounding area are beautiful. There are OS maps available which were great for planning a walk to the Crown in East Rudham (4 miles each way). Their tempura prawns on the specials menu were amazing. Lovely hot, powerful shower and the master bedroom has blinds as well as curtains for better light blocking. We appreciated that there was a high chair and bath toys and for those with older toddlers, a stair gate, potty and kids toilet seat. Top tips: - no need to bring a hairdryer as there is one (though the listing says there isn't) - do bring slippers as the downstairs flooring is a kind of rough matting - screenshot the arrival instructions as there is no signal when you get there (I had it preloaded but my phone wanted to reload the link - only managed to get in because I remembered the combination!)
Lovely place, not too far away from amenities. Lovely decorated, clean and mostly tranquil quite place.
Highly recommend the station house, it is stunning, beautifully decorated and kept with all that you need for a getaway. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay, slept so well because it is so quiet and only a short drive to the beach. We will be returning!
