Excellent communication with Matt, who accepted my booking only one day before arrival. The accommodation is very Cosy and comfy, the kitchen is enough equipped, filled with basic ingredients you don't have to buy like oil salt tea coffee etc... My children and I loved the surroundings and the walk in the woodlands. We picked up elderflower for herbal tea before going to sleep, it was a great experience for them. 20 min to Canterbury,15 min to minnis bay, 45 min to Dover. I chose to sleep downstairs and the kids upstairs. Their bed was definitely better than mine,but it's OK. Will definitely come back again. Thx Matt.

Lovely and cosy place to stay with everything you need and great instructions for arrival. Really appreciated the local recommendations from Matt which took us on great walks, nice places to eat and drink, and dog friendly beach. One thing to note is that one of the dogs isn't dog friendly which was a little scary at first but they stayed behind a gate at all times.

Matt was a superb host....very helpful and friendly. It was so nice to meet him and his partner. The lodge is a lovely, cosy little place to hibernate. Even with a few people coming and going it still felt peaceful and everyone was so friendly. Great 40 minute walk through the woods, fields and country lanes to the Gate Inn in Boyden Gate....we didn't see a soul either on the walk there or on the way back. Closer, only 15-20 minutes walk away, there is also the Grove Ferry Inn on the waterside, a lovely spot. All in all, a really nice place for us to hang out for a couple of days. Thanks Matt!

Matt was a lovely and impeccable host - we were also very grateful how accommodating he was as we had to rescheduled twice due to our cat not being well, and a work issue. The place is super lovely, clean and with great peaceful surroundings. Matt was always available and quick to answer, which we really appreciated. We did really enjoy our staying and definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to switch off and get away. We will be definitely back! Thank you, Matt.
