Nathalie and Jean-Jacques's studio is a good place to stay. Although small, its balcony makes it seem less cramped, and the studio bed is easy to pull out and make - and doesn't take over the entire space unlike other budget studettes in Paris. They provided sheets and towels, making the required longer stay there easier. There was a microwave, coffee machine, two hobs and various pots and crockery. A fridge with freezer means no problems storing food. The shower is large and very good, although a long shower might use up all the hot water. In summer it was very hot - fortunately there is a good fan which can be set up on the table. In winter or cold weather, it might be very cold though - the door into the hallway has a gap at base and there is no heater. Also, visiting in summer there are quite a few ants - they could be a pest when I was careless, but I prepared a vinegar spray. The place is very easy to get to and to go to places on the Left Bank and west side of the Right Bank, being near lines 4 (Saint-Placide) and 12 (Rennes), as well as Montparnasse itself and its host of other connections. Going running from here was very easy to reach the Seine or the southern arrondisements. More practically, a big Carrefour is nearby on Rue de Sevres and there are many good boulangeries nearby. Nathalie and Jean-Jacques are very kind and attentive hosts - if you have problems they will quickly help. I needed an affordable place for a long stay (a month) and it and they were great for me.
