We loved visiting Little Minka, it was perfect for a getaway. Dan & Ayako gave clear instructions and great recommendations. The home is incredible, so beautiful and well thought-out. It feels very private like you are out in the middle of the woods, yet within a short drive there is a lot to do - we enjoyed nearby restaurants and hiking at Minnewaska. The wood-fired hot tub was a fun project, if you make it the first night you can enjoy it for a second day for sure!

Our stay at the Japanese Folk House was just magical. Nestled in serene woods, it offered the perfect retreat for our family of 3 — my husband, 3 year old toddler and myself. Thoughtful touches like a vintage rocking chair, toys and board games delighted our daughter. The wood-burning stove was one of our favorites and we would fire it up everyday, keeping the cabin nice and toasty— it definitely added to the Zen ambiance & atmosphere. We loved the projector and sound system, this made “movie nights in” a very special memory. Beautifully crafted home and it had a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you need- making meal prep easy. I was admiring all the wonderful ceramics and appliances. Impeccable cleanliness enhanced our comfort. Despite feeling secluded, it was conveniently close to hiking trails and restaurants. We highly recommend this tranquil escape for nature lovers. We hope to return when the weather is a little warmer next time!

What a stunning home. We had such a lovely stay. The beds were so comfortable and we really enjoyed sitting by the wood stove and doing some puzzles. My three year old loved the legos, too. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot. Great hosts!

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful space! We had a relaxing and calming weekend. I really enjoyed using the fireplace which really heated up the space and the bed was so comfortable! Would highly recommend to all and would visit again!
