We really enjoyed our stay in Villa Hawkeshead, the pool was one of the best we’ve had in years. Just the right temperature. The interiors and outdoor furniture are dated but the basics of the villa such as amount of bathrooms and bedrooms were fine for our stay. It’s a fair distance from the beach, like most villas in Lanzarote however if you call a taxi it will be with you within a few minutes and are cheap.

We had a great time in Lanzarote and Playa Blanca was great for us as a family able to easily get to the beach. This house is 20 mins walk to the beach on pavements. Positives... 1. Great pool size and area around it. I get the sense Lanzarote pools are not that big for villas. Good automatic covering system too. 2. Nice size bbq outside although dirty on our arrival 3. Location of house is just at bottom of a volcano that you can walk up to and around and back - 1 hour in total. Really cool. 4. Pool well maintained with twice weekly visits from maintenance guy 5. Wonderful outside eating and relaxing area overlooking the pool on the 1st floor. Not sure I recall the photos including this but it was nice and despite the wind in Lanzarote at the time it was very wind protected. 6. Handy separate area outside just off from the kitchen to wash and dry clothes. 7. Handy having 4 bathrooms for our family Negatives... 1. Representation of the aircon on AirBnb wasn't accurate enough for us. There is ONLY one aircon unit in the master bedroom. The agency may look at this and update post our visit. 2. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs and as such unfortunately get some cockroaches. We had 5 come in whilst we were there. The owners have attempted to deal with it and left us spray also which was easy to kill them but the kids didn't like it at all. 3. The property is dated - full on wooden wardrobes in all rooms, doors that don't necessarily open and close quietly/easily, furnishings, kitchen style, bathroom style 4. The fake leather sofa is peeling heavily - the owners have tried to cover it up with a large covering (not shown in the Airbnb photo that we saw) but it felt like being on a student house sofa. 5. Photos did not include the kitchen - turns out the kitchen was small and dated although it did open up directly into the living and dining area. Overall the living area space was small. 6. The sofa is a mess - peeling constantly, like being in a student house on a big sheet covering the sofa 7. Some bits of issues on arrival like a lack of kitchen cloth and handwash but the agents dealt with this quickly on the day when we raised it. 8. I'm sure I'd read that bed sheets and towels would be changed after 1 week. We were there from a Monday to a week on Friday - 11 days and nothing was changed. I didn't query it or double check though. Worth clarifying if this is important to you. The property is managed by Villas Now (English owned and speaking) and they were very responsive to address issues with easy communications - phone and text.
