We had a wonderful weekend stay! The property is amazing and the view from our house was beautiful. Our dogs loved all of the room to play and take walks. The tiny house is so charming and very cozy. MJ provided a lot of information about the property as well as local suggestions which was so helpful as we had not stayed around here before. We already miss it and cannot wait to be back. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay in the cottage. The surroundings are spectacular! Cape Charles and surrounding areas are truly a best kept secret! If you would like to get away from it all - and feel like life has slowed to a pace more likely from 20-30 years ago - MJ’s place is a MUST!! We will certainly be back

This is our second stay at the Laughing King, and we can't wait to get back. Our stay at Honeymoon Island Cottage was absolutely wonderful. The charming tiny farmhouse, steps from the Chesapeake Bay, offered not only tranquility but also a host of delightful activities. MJ and Suzanne's hospitality was top-notch, making us feel warmly welcomed and thoroughly cared for throughout our visit. The breakfasts were a highlight, with delicious, hearty meals that got every day off to a great start. The nearby town charmed us with its friendly vibe and lovely scenery. Everything about this place—from the relaxing atmosphere to the fantastic amenities and the personal touches by our hosts—made our stay truly special. We left feeling rejuvenated and eager to return.

I can not give enough praise to MJ as a host, and our wonderful experience at the Laughing King! We stayed in the separate “Honeymoon Cottage” for our anniversary weekend. Here is what we liked best: - Having our own private space - the quirky open shower w/ dual heads, very rustic - stargazing while lying flat on the little porch of the cottage (dark surroundings and wide open view!) - putting on waders and gathering oysters right in front of the property; MJ took pity and opened them for us! - sunset walk on the nearby sandbar at low tide (we got great pics and 2 large shells) - MJ’s homemade breakfasts were DELICIOUS! - MJ was a wealth of knowledge re local history, recommendations, etc. THANK YOU!!!

The perfect getaway. Such a beautiful place!! The stars were amazing at night and the sunrises didn’t disappoint either. Our host made us feel right at home with delicious breakfasts and made great recommendations for activities and restaurants. The cottage was so cozy and we couldn’t recommend it more!
