Great location! Our family was able to take their bikes out multiple times. Communication was a bit delayed until after our stay was complete, but we were able to figure out our needs.

Comfortable stay. A good location to bask in the peace and quiet, with mature trees surrounding the property and nice views of the Potomac and more from the house. The CO canal is literally right past the driveway, for anyone who wants to walk or exercise along the canal and the Potomac river. The charming city of Shepherdstown has some pretty good dining options (Bistro 112 has half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays) when you are ready to venture out. The house looks like it could comfortably house 4-5 with an open area upstairs. I live close to Lock 26 in Maryland, so it was nice to go up river to see what the locks looked like "up north" in locks 38-39.

Quiet and restful location with a small walk to the C&O Canal. We also enjoyed the walkway right by the water. This is an older house so as long as you aren’t looking for shiny and new, you will find this rustic home a peaceful place with plenty of room. We loved the bright windows and played lots of games in the room off the kitchen. The heat was super warm and kept us cozy. We visited Antietam just a short drive away and LOVED the Blue Moon Cafe and Rutters Ice Cream in Shepherdstown. Hope was a wonderful host, very responsive and we appreciated her professionalism.

Daniel's place is very peaceful and beautiful. It's right on the C&O canal and Potomac river. You can walk along the river and tow path. The house has lots of windows facing the river and the yard is large enough to get lost in. The beds are comfortable and the linens and towels were nice and clean. The place is perfect for a relaxing get-away. Daniel always answered communications quickly and was very easy to work with. We found a really good coffee roaster just a few minutes away, so if you're staying at the River house, make sure you check out River Bottom Roasters.
