House was tucked in the trees with the sound of nearby water, very peaceful. Love the swing on the second story porch. Everything was comfortable from beginning to end with an incredibly stocked kitchen. Rorke is a gem and so is the house. Can't wait to go back.

Wow! I would stay at Rorke's place over and over again. This was the perfect location for my family to have some much needed down time. We felt right at home as soon as we entered the door. The surroundings were perfect and idyllic for a relaxing weekend away. Rorke was super responsive. Even though it rained the entirety of our trip, we still had an excellent vacation getting valuable R&R thanks to this cozy home! The place was super clean and decorated in a fun, eclectic cabin way. The kitchen was perfect! I cooked several meals during our stay and it was such a relief to have ample pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc. (something many others lack!). And bonus: the beds were comfy, too!

I needed a long weekend getaway to recharge, and this place was the perfect retreat. Booking and arrival were simple and painless. The C&O canal towpath is literally a stone's throw away (milepost 84.5). When you sit out on the stone patio you can hear the water flowing over the damn just a few hundred yards away. Rode my bike and walked quite a few miles in the three days I stayed - just what I needed. Look forward to returning when it warms up and the birds return in abundance.
