Ashwell Cottage is located in the grounds of our home, Ashwell House at the end of a country lane in the heart of the peaceful and tranquil Devon countryside. The Cottage was completely renovated in 2019. It has its own cottage garden, which in turn is set in the substantial grounds of Ashwell House. French doors open out onto a patio area with an outdoor dining space. The loudest noise you are likely to hear is the occasional passing tractor, and our own normally well behaved dog. Ashwell Cottage consists of a kitchen / dining area on the ground floor along with a shower room and the main bedroom. The living room is upstairs with a sofa bed and log burner. The kitchen has a fridge freezer, induction hob and oven, along with a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There are ‘connected’ TVs in the kitchen, bedroom and living room. We have fast and reliable broadband. There is a terrace garden for outside dining or just relaxing in the sunshine.

We had a really lovely 4 day stay at Ashwell Cottage, it's a beautiful and well equipped property well away from the rest of the world but only 20 minutes or so from Totnes. Don and Karen have put so much love and attention into the cottage that we could have stayed a lot longer, as it was so comfortable and we would love to return again in the future to do some more exploring in the area.
A very quiet and peaceful location. Very comfortable bed, nice and warm and well equipped clean accommodation. Don was extremely helpful and responded very quickly to queries. Would definitely return and recommend. One of the best cottages we have stayed in.
This is a beautiful and well-kept cottage in peaceful surroundings. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived til the moment we left. Don and Karen were welcoming and extremely helpful, while at the same time giving us the space and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into providing a great experience for guests, from EV charging to smart TVs to a log burner! Thank you both!

Alles in allem eine Reise wert.Ein wunderschönes Cottage auf einem tollen Anwesen. Reizende Gastgeber,die stets hilfsbereit und freundlich waren. Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Es hat nichts gefehlt ,sogar Bügelbrett,Bügeleisen und Staubsauger sowie Waschmaschine sind vorhanden. Man fühlt sich wirklich wie zu Hause.

We are situated at the end of a country lane. There are just five houses in our community three of which used to be part of Ashwell Farm. It is very quiet and has the feeling of being remote but in fact the nearest towns and villages are just a few minutes away. At night there is virtually no ambient light so the night skies can be amazing.
Totnes is about 15 minutes away and is on the banks of the River Dart. An independent spirited lively town with markets on Fridays and Saturdays, many independent shops, galleries, cafes and retaurants and a lovely old castle. From here you take a boat ride all the way to Dartmouth.
Dartmouth is about 25 minutes away with its stunning scenery, beautiful boats, many restaurants and a great array of shops. At various times of the year there are many festivals, including a Regatta, a Food Festival and a Music Festival.
A car is essential for your stay. Whilst there are some walks around the nearby country lanes the nearest village pub is a couple of miles away, and the nearest village shop and other amenities is just over two miles away.
The lovely town of Totnes is about 15 minutes drive, where you will find a wide range of supermarkets, shops and everything you could want for your daily needs. Kingsbridge is about 20 minutes away and Dartmouth about 25 minutes away.
