Millwheel Cottage is a beautiful single level stone cottage located on the Colmer Estate in the heart of South Devon. Sleeping up to 4 guests it's a comfortable base to relax in or explore the area. Beaches, quaint towns and vineyards are all within a short drive. Perfectly located to explore the local beaches and towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth. The estate includes a lake, woodland meadows, tennis court, walled gardens, play area and swimming pools, indoor and outdoor (seasonal). This is a wonderful holiday destination with fantastic facilities on the doorstep. Whilst there is plenty to occupy busy people at Colmer, there are many places within the extensive grounds of this lovely location for those seeking peace and tranquillity in an idyllic location. The front door leads into a light open plan living area. Seating area with large sofa and armchair, smart TV, books and games, Wi-Fi. Dining table to seat 4. The kitchen area has an electric hob and built-in oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and microwave. Off the kitchen a hallway leads to Bedroom 1 with a Super king 6ft bed, built in wardrobes and bedside drawers. Bedroom 2 has 2 x single 3ft beds and wall mounted storage. The bathroom off the hall has a bath and rainfall shower over, basin and WC, with underfloor heating. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed courtyard with table, chairs and charcoal barbecue. Ample grounds stretch beyond the cottage within the estate for guests to enjoy. Who we think it's perfect for... - A family with young children looking to relax using the on site facilities and explore the area by car. - A couple or group of friends looking for a stylish compact base to explore the area. Need to know.... - Laundry facilities are shared on the estate with a coin operated laundry room. - Outdoor kidney shaped swimming pool (heated 25 May until 7 September 2024). - An excellent indoor heated swimming pool (open year round). Upon arrival times of use can be reserved for each home for exclusive use of the pool. - All weather tennis court (please bring own equipment). - Opportunities to play basketball, football, table-tennis and boules. Tennis rackets and balls provided. - Picnicking by the private lake. - Water garden with board walk. - Magical walled garden with play equipment, a boules pit, picnic tables and a games room with a table football and darts. - Fitness gymnasium with a good range of equipment (open Easter until end of October). - On site payphone in indoor swimming pool lobby. - The property provides bath towels but not swimming or beach towels. - Parking: Designated space near to the cottage for one car. Further visitor parking available within the estate nearby.

Millwheel Cottage was a perfect base for our South Hams explorations. It's just the right size for a family of four and had all the amenities / equipment we needed. The children's bedroom has a view of the old millwheel with a switch so it can be lit at night, which our girls loved. The main bed is huge! The estate has lots of space for walking / playing in and I imagine the outdoor pool will be brilliant in the summer season. The cottage was easy to find and we loved being able to use the pool every day (although didn't know until we arrived that this was limited to 30 mins' private use for each cottage, each day). Storm Kathleen meant that we had torrential rain for our entire visit, but we still had a great time and were blessed with a few dry minutes here and there! We visited Dartmouth, Greenway, Coleton Fishacre, Salcome, Burgh Island, Kingsbridge... all within an hour of the cottage. We would definitely like to revisit - hopefully with less rain!
A lovely place to stay, beautiful grounds and lots on site. The cottage is cozy and comfortable, with great resources to keep all families entertained, whatever the weather. Host was very reliable and responsive, making the whole process, including check in incredibly smooth.
What a lovely place - would highly recommend. We hadnt even realised until the last day there was a view of a beautiful old waterwheel from one of the rooms - would be the best thing at most places! Thinking already about visiting again

Located within the Colmer estate, a beautiful 18th Century country estate set in 28 acres of private grounds, consisting of 20 apartments in a converted water mill with outbuildings and manor house.
There is a petrol station and pub serving great food 100 metres from the property.
Parking spaces provided. Visitors will need a car to visit beaches and towns nearby.
