自我介绍

I was born in Edinburgh and grew up in the village of Juniper Green, surrounded by the beauty of the Pentland hills. This instilled in me a lifelong interest and love of nature that eventually led me to study for a bachelor of science degree (BSc) in Horticulture with Plantsmanship, at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. Since then, my approach to living is firmly rooted in creating diversity and reducing environmental impact. Although still residing in Edinburgh, I have spent most of my holidaying life in the highlands and islands of Scotland, and it has been my dream to create an eco-friendly house in the naturally beautiful surroundings of the north. After deciding last year to purchase a plot of land to realise the dream, I came upon Chasing The Moon, immediately fell in love with it, and purchased the property in October 2020. Already a successful holiday let, the cottage offered a high degree of comfort, but it was the view and the experience of the surrounding landscape that blew me away, this was somewhere I would love to stay but can rarely find. So we decided to embark on a 5-year plan and continue renting the cottage as a self-catering business until we are in a position to re-build. I have stayed in hundreds of self-catering properties all over Scotland and being a dog owner, it’s always difficult to find somewhere to stay that allows dogs, but is not too precious or too shabby! Chasing The Moon ticks all my boxes and I hope it provides guests with a home from home, where they can expect a high standard of accommodation, but in a very relaxed environment with lots of privacy and seclusion. It was never my intention to buy a holiday let, but I am very excited to share Chasing The Moon. Here you will be able to access something truly unique, including being able to walk directly from the house to the beach without having to drive and take in views that other tourists are queuing to see, it really is a hidden gem. Plans are already underway to re-instate the dry stone dykes surrounding the house and plans are underway for the house. They will start to appear on our webpage in 2022 with work starting in October of this year.
