Great location!! It was nice to be in a place that has a bit of a backstory to it. We felt comfortable and loved the view but, there were some issues with cleanliness and maintenance. We had hoped to use the grill, but when I went to fire it up, the grates were quite rusty and I didn't feel like stripping them down to grill some fish. The lawn had not been maintained, it hadn't been mowed in at least a few weeks which made great hiding place for gnats and mosquitos. There were some cleanliness issues inside too; of the knives were greasy, there was hair on my wife's pillow case, and someone had left a shirt behind, hanging on one of the hooks behind the bedroom door. None of these ended up spoiling our trip, as the good outweighed the bad, we were just a bit disappointed because this place has so much potential.

This is an excellent property for a coastal Maine getaway. As other reviews note, the house is very rustic with a classic Maine "camp" feel, though not at the expense of having all the necessities of a house, plus more. The seating area and water access across the street was wonderful to have. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and felt very much at home! There were a couple minor issues that we made do with: the shower head had a leak in it which caused water to spray everywhere from the top. We ended up taking it off to spare the homeowners from having a soaked bathroom. I alerted Vacasa immediately and got what seemed to be an automated response, with no further communication from them, so hopefully they were able to address with the homeowners for after our stay. We also got a bunch of things for a barbecue but were saddened to see that the grill did not have any propane. Ultimately, neither was a big deal and didn't ruin our time!

We enjoyed our stay here and the location was perfect for walking down the shoreline. The views were fabulous from sunroom. The b&b is old but very functional and charming. It felt like an escape to countryside. Communication was alright. On the downside, we couldn’t turn on heat and it got really cold on one of the nights, especially for kids. Vacasa gave us instructions via text but those didn’t help. We were told somebody will come down to assist, but the request went nowhere, and we managed somehow without the heat. The host wasn’t quite flexible, as they couldn’t accommodate the request to extend check-out by an hour. Considering check-in was at 4 pm, check-out at 10 am felt quite rushed with kids, and it took Vacasa a few hours after check-out to get back to the request. We have stayed in Vacasa properties before, and the communication has been much quicker at other places. Other than that, the stay was fabulous and I would highly recommend this b&b to anyone visiting Boothbay.

I rented this space for myself and 5 others I work with for a event we had. This house was so cute! It’s an older home and it has so much charm. What we loved most about this place was that it had a great sun porch with a beautiful view as well as a sitting area across the street. I would definitely book here again!!!
