An exceptionally well located house on the waterfront with easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The entire house is very well designed with a wrap around deck and tall glass windows that provides panoramic views of the surroundings. We enjoyed endless hours birdwatching from the living area and saw numerous varieties of ducks, eagles etc. During the day you have access to Acadia, Bar Harbor and Ellesworth with a limited number (its winter) but excellent restaurants. With limited to no tourists we enjoyed numerous drives around the island and visited the small, quaint towns on Mt. Desert Island and did some antique shopping. During some evenings we took advantage of the very well appointed kitchen to cook and bake or go out for dinner to nearby Bar Harbor. While we were only four in our party, the home can easily accommodate many more between the three floors. Peter is an excellent host and communicated proactively with us through out the trip. Highly recommend for all seasons.

Beautiful home on Mount Desert Island. We were a party of 6 and spent Thanksgiving week here. The home was well equipped and very comfortable. Very peaceful, too.

Overlook is a beautiful home in a fantastic location. The views were great, there was wildlife in the area, and it was very peaceful. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The host provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out, for operating the amenities, and recommendations for restaurants and things to do that were spot on. We thoroughly our stay and recommend it highly for anyone else that is looking for a wonderful stay in the Bar Harbor/Acadia area.

What a lovely place for a family of nine, ages 5 to 70! The house is spacious yet cozy – exactly what we wanted! The views from the deck of the bay, the morning song of the black and white warblers, and seeing a young bald eagle in a nearby tree made the place even more special. The week was everything we wanted it to be. Being together in this beautiful space was the centerpiece of a great trip. The house is just a 15 to 30 minute drive from many attractions. We had a great time in Bar Harbor (shopping, eating, watching the July 4th parade, doing the shore walk, taking a Bar Harbor nature cruise) and in Acadia National Park (the Bubble Rock hike, Thunder Hole, Day Mountain hike, carriage road to Witch Hole Pond, and much more). Our grandchildren discovered the joys of tide pools. They loved going down to the water and exploring, and bringing back mussels and cooking and eating them. If we get up to Bar Harbor again, we would definitely come back to Peter’s place.

Peter’s house has the best stocked rental kitchen we have ever booked. We loved spending time on the deck enjoying the wonderful view under the propane heaters Peter hooked up for us. We also loved eating and playing games around the large dining room table. We walked on the beach and made s’mores around the campfire our last night. Bar Harbor and Acadia are wonderful places to visit but you could never leave the house and have a great time on vacation.
