Great stay! Very comfortable. Very close to trailheads which is what we were looking for.
We booked Hopewell Junction at the last minute to get away and do some hiking. We couldn't believe how close it was to the Fiery Gizzard trailhead! The development is nice but "still in progress". There is some construction going on but when it all gets built, it is going to be great. It didn't bother us because we were out during the day. The house itself is neat and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
There are two key aspects to this property. There are things the owner can control and things that are really driven by the development and property management. Our rating is based on what the owner can control, but wanted to share some thoughts around the community as well. Community: The development itself and the town show a lot of promise, but are still in the process of being established. The water's edge community, while incomplete, is fantastic. We'd love to get a place there, but they are sold out. Just be aware that there aren't really any significant amenities within the community at this point. You are staying in a quiet construction zone. I do wish they had integrated in more walking/bike trails in the meantime. The nearby towns are a bit less developed than we expected. I'm by far from a foodie, but was still pretty underwhelmed by the local places to go eat. I imagine this will improve, but the only place we ate I'd recommend is the Mountain Goat Market. They are really in need of a brewpub bar kind of place given the target market of the tiny home communities. I also wish they had some small businesses within the tiny home community for coffee or other small items. Property: First, this home is more a smaller home, rather than a traditional tiny home. It was clean and decorated well, but just has a different vibe. Again, not something I'd change the rating for, but wanted to mention this. We got moved to this property due to an issue with the Stargazer property. The home is well equipped, has beautiful landscaping and a swing in the back with a neat take on a forest playground area. The biggest negative we had on our stay that drives me to leave a 3/5 star rating is that it feels almost like the owners haven't stayed here as a couple. The furnishing of the place significantly impacted the enjoyment of our stay. Issue 1: We had some of the worst sleep of our lives because of two issues. This is the key thing driving our rating of 3/5 stars a) The fridge makes an extreme amount of noise. I've never heard a fridge produce even close to as much noise as this one. You have to raise your voice to be heard over it and is probably as loud as a quiet generator or air compressor when the compressor is running. b) The mattresses are the worst mattress I've ever slept on. I go camping and my blow up backpacking sleeping pad is more comfortable. They are cheap spring mattresses that severely slope towards the middle of the bed with two people on them. The owners should at the very least replace these with some decent $300 mattresses or something. These are bargin bin and I wouldn't suggest staying here until this is addressed. Issue 2: There is nowhere in this home where you can cuddle with your partner by a fire, or watching tv. In my opinion, this place needs: a) a TV in at least one bedroom b) Or, a sectional in the living room. The couches are comfortable (more than the beds), but aren't well suited to the space.
This tiny home was spotless, and it was just right for the four of us during our stay in Tracy City. It is on the main road into town and just right for our needs. We visited ancestors in the Tracy City Cemetery, walked the Fiery Gizzard Trail, and drove around to the places that I enjoyed going in my youth. The house is new with all working appliances, plus central air and heat. If we had stayed longer we could have had an outdoor meal on the patio. We just stayed one night, and we were glad they allowed that option.
