Carl came to welcome us and provide further details. The room was comfortable, with all of the necessary amenities. It was great to have snorkel gear, boogie boards and insect repellent available for use. The hot breakfast served was excellent. Both Carl and Elma were were friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Loved Carl & Elma's place! Views, sunsets, comfy private porch and public deck. Great breakfasts. Beautiful tropical plants and trees on property. Quiet. Far from the madding crowd at Kona, close to fabulous snorkeling at Honaunau and Captain Cook. We did the 4 mile RT hike down to Captain Cook monument for very good snorkeling - beware the hot 1000 foot ascent back to trailhead, but so worth it! Liked Black Rock Pizza. Carl and Elma really nice, saw them put up a guest who arrived a day early in an unused space. Would absolutely return and recommend highly.

A super cute house with ocean views and some animals! The host kept great condition of the old fashioned house so it’s nice and clean! You will have great variety of choices for breakfast to start your day! It’s really an unique experience. Host’s dog is really lovely and clever, don’t hesitate if you are a dog lover too!

Carl & Elma are such wonderful hosts! The two of them make a great team with their warm hospitality, great recommendations in the area, and the breakfast is 10 out of 10!! The view from the lanais are second to none and equipped with a table, chairs, a sofa, and a fridge, so really you could stay out there all day and enjoy it. Inside is perfect; the bed is comfy and the fan keeps the room a comfortable temp. Oh and we can't forget about their sweet German Shepherd, he's so friendly! We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend staying here at Hale Hoola.

Elma and Carl were wonderful hosts and the location was simply beautiful. We woke up to an ocean facing view and got to see some cows and pigs in the morning hours. The bnb was very comfortable and clean. Elma was very accommodating and Carl provided us with awesome suggestions and local tips on places to visit!
