My husband and I arrived here at night after driving an upgrade Hana Road;) Karen still waited and welcome us. When we entered the cottage, we saw colorized lights and warm lamp, listened soothing music around, really felt it is so amazing! The structure is really historied but clean, the room let you feel relax and forget other social worried, the bed is so comfortable and we got a good sleep there. The cat Perry is so clever, just sleep at the step. The position is good, two mns can walk to a beach park, we did snorkeling there, saw 'Nemo' and 'Dory'. It was Sunday, so many families went there to have fun, enjoyed the sunshine and the sea, all kind and warm person. Karen is really let us feel free and gave a good introduction there. She recommend us join a club to see Manta at night, we did and feel unforgettable, the big 'monster' danced in front of our face! The morning we prepared to leave but found our truck's tire leakage, Karen came and called her friend from work to help us, just in case we can't catch up next trip, we got a car fixed lesson, really really be appreciated for that! My husband and I all love the cottage, hope could spend more time there!
The place is good, beside the bay, with a park. Karen is very nice and friendly, even though I broke her light.....the cat perry is nice to the guests. Everything is fine.
The attention to detail and the energy Karen has created, is unmatched. This place has everything you need and want! Steps away from the water too!!! Paradise on Earth. Thank you Karen!
We loved our stay at the Bali Cottage. It was easily our favorite place we stayed on the Big Island. The location was amazing and the little touches make this place so special. We wish we could have spent more time here and would absolutely stay again!
If you are looking for a unique experience off the beaten path, this is the place for you. We slept in a bed that was 200years old (a little short for my 6’ 2”husband). It was so quiet you could hear the waves. The outdoor shower was fantastic and had a good amount of hot water. Ron and Karen are great hosts who welcomed us to their place with coffee, creamer, and stories. We loved Manini beach as well, super close and the best snorkeling.
Quiet, peaceful village, very little traffic. All you will hear is the ocean and birds. The Cottage is nestled in our lower yard. Off the street.
A car is a must. Don’t need 4 wheel drive
My husband Ron and I have lived in Hawaii for 21 years. We moved here from another island - Whidbey Island in Washington. Love to bicycle, hike, swim, stand up board, meet new people, travel. We have lived in California, New York, Washington, Germany, and Switzerland. Ron's retired Boeing, I am an AutoCAD drafter. I am the Finish Line Timing Coordinator for the Ironman in Kona. Have much Aloha! Love living on the Big Island! So many adventures to be had.
