Disappointed with cleanliness, the windows were very dirty, crumbs on furniture and kitchen worktops, shelf in fridge broken, the carpet needed a Hoover lots of dead flies on the carpet, cigarettes in the ashtray, the hot tub was cold so we did not use it. I tried the emergency number twice but no one answered or called back.

We absolutely love staying here, it’s our 3rd time visiting allerthorpe golf and country park and have already booked for next year. The lodge is really well equipped and clean, the beds are well made and comfortable. The site on a whole is lovely, the building works is still ongoing but this didn’t pose an issue to our stay. As we have visited before, we knew already about the wasp problem in the area, so this time we went equipped. I would recommend taking some wasp traps if you want to enjoy the summer outside as otherwise you will never be left alone by wasps. Having the wasp traps made out stay a lot more comfortable. I would also recommend taking your fans from home in hotter months, luckily we did as during our stay the temp was touching the 30s. The lodges seem to absorb a lot of heat so a fan is a must. JJs is a lovely restaurant onsite, great menu, something for everyone. pocklington is a 5 minute drive away with some nice shops, pubs and various takeaways. The hot tub over looking the lake is lovely. I do think the hot tubs need a little bit more attention on the cleanliness side, the filter should be changed between guests ect as our hot tub was unbelievably murky looking but I have made my suggestions to the park directly so hopefully they will consider a stricter regime. Overall this is a great base in the summer for family days out, a lovely home from home to relax and unwind. We look forward to coming again next year.

Lodge was absolute perfection! Had everything you needed and more. Spacious and even better then the pictures which I didn’t think was possible. Had so many people asking for the information after I shared pictures to my social media and I will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for an amazing stay 💗

Beautiful lodge, great view of the lake, hot tub large and very relaxing. Amenities at the gold centre were great. Good food and friendly staff. The hut selling pizza was a nice little touch and the pizzas were very tasty! Lodge was clean and of a high standard interior. Great location, quiet and scenic but within 20 minutes of designer outlet and park and ride for york city centre. We loved our little break. Will definitely return there.
