We had the most wonderful stay and loved the beautiful, peaceful rural setting and views. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the birds and listening to the stags bellowing in the distance. Everything was immaculately presented inside and outside and with so many thoughtful details. The gite was spotlessly clean and well equipped, and the secluded pool was fabulous. It was perfectly located for sightseeing and visiting the bastides. Michael and Patrick were friendly and so helpful with recommendations for places to visit and good restaurants but were unobtrusive and gave us plenty of space. Thank you for a fantastic stay - we didn’t want to leave and hope we can return again soon.

La maison est au calme et possede un grand jardin. A coté, il y a des voisins qui possedent une ferme avec des vaches et deux chevres. Les enfants étaient ravis de pouvoir s'y promener le soir. Les hotes habitent à coté mais sont tres discrets. Ils ne gachent pas du tout le sejour, au contraire. Patrick proméne le chien, Walter, seulement quand nous ne sommes pas dans le jardin. Il nous a donné de bons conseils de viste et cela a été un plaisir de discuter en français/anglais. La maison est loin de tout à pieds mais en voiture, il faut 10 min pour aller à Lalinde et pouvoir faire les courses et manger au resto. Le resto le petit loup est une bonne adresse avec les enfants. A noter qu une machine expresso serait un atout supplémentaire pour la maison et le parquet des chambres grincent. Merci pour les vacances.

Très beau séjour - gîte remarquable et accueil au top. Les propriétaires sont à côté mais très discrets. Tout est très propre. Tout est fait pour que nous nous sentions bien. A recommander sans hésiter.

With the gorgeous Dordogne river just minutes away and the beautiful town of Bergerac in easy reach, Gite De Carolie is ideally placed to appreciate the sights and sounds of Aquitaine France. Its convenient location for picturebook medieval villages (many of them Plus Beaux Villages) is, however, just the start of this holiday home’s delights. A sizeable pool with an ideal mix of shade and sun offers a refreshing oasis from the heat of the day while a secluded raised balcony is ideal for peaceful breakfasts and early evening drinks. The gite itself is artfully decorated with three large bedrooms, separate shower rooms and fully functional kitchen/living area. All mod cons are provided for those days when you just want to leave the car untouched and walk in the woods or swim in the pool and unwind at home. Michael and Patrick are ideal hosts. Informative and attentive but never intrusive, always happy to pass on hard-earned tips for getting the most out of Dordogne life but equally happy to be working away in the background ensuring the pool, wifi and gardens are in top condition. All that said, what delighted and surprised us was how utterly immersed in the countryside we felt. We will never forget the Jurassic bellows of buck deer rolling across the vast woods and fields to potential mates at dawn and dusk, nor the tap-tap of woodpeckers and the mew of buzzards reeling high overhead in clear blue Perigordian skies.

Séjour parfait ! Magnifique gîte très bien placé et entretenu. Un séjour très reposant. Les hôtes sont disponibles, à l’écoute et serviable.toujours prêts pour aider si besoin. Je recommande à 100%. Une liste de chose à faire dans le coin a été préparée en amont pour nous permettre de prendre connaissance des environs. Merci encore !
