The Overbrook Studio is located in Callicoon Center NY, just under 2 hrs. from NYC. Driving onto the property, you are transported to a peaceful retreat, sometimes described as magical. Protected from the road by Hemlock trees and the gentle buck brook, the Overbrook Studio is the 2nd floor of what used to be the original barn of The Overbrook House. When the owners bought the property in 2008, the 2nd floor of the barn was a chopped up 1 bedroom apartment. Removing most of the walls and adding a large window along with specially detailed authentic barn wood converted this 1 bedroom apartment into a perfect guest suite thats packs a whole lot of charm. The owners have stayed there while renting out the main house on occasion.

Callicoon center, for the years that we’ve owned it, has always been a sleepy town with their own post office and occasional country store... more recently, The Callicoon Hills underwent a huge renovation and is now opened. Just a 5 minute walk from the house with a wonderful restaurant/bar for your enjoyment as well as a beautiful property to explore. What is also special about Callicoon Center is that it is a 15 min drive (or less) to all of the neighboring towns like Jeffersonville, North Branch, Roscoe and Callicoon.
It’s the country! Cars are necessary to get to neighboring towns, however, I think there are 1 or 2 Uber drivers...but we don't recommend counting on them!

Actually- its Rick and Steven! We have owned The Overbrook House since 2008, when we purchased it as our weekend getaway from our lives in Manhattan. Both of us have had professions that connected us to people. Steven, owner and operator of a successful, well known Wellness Center in NYC for 25 years and Rick, an accomplished artist, graphic designer and marketing expert for over 30 years. Both of us having strong beliefs in providing excellent service mixed with our aesthetic, love of color and attention to detail has always been transferred into the design of our homes: comfortable and easy on the eyes. If someone would have told us that we would being inviting people we don't know to stay in our home- we would have told them it was never gonna happen! We're so glad that we would have been wrong! We both love watching people have a truly relaxed and at times, magical experience from the house and land at the Overbrook House.
