Rob is a great host and super helpful. The space is well equipped with lots of nice extras.. great TV with Netflix etc. It was easy to find and the check in was really easy. It’s nice and quiet and located in the heart of the village with a pub across the road. I would happily stay here again. Top find on Airbnb.
Fantastic stay at The Sliding! Just like the photos, plenty of amenities and situated in a lovely village. Thank you :)
Clean and cosy, lovely place to stay for the weekend with lots to do in the surrounding area.
The village is very quaint and has some local amenities: a lovely classic pub that was once visited by Queen Victoria; a village store, including a post office ; a deli with local artisan goods; a hairdresser; a doctor’s surgery and even a little farm that sells their own eggs.
There are many footpaths around the village that allow you to take in the peaceful countryside that Waltham on the Wolds is set in.

The market town of Melton Mowbray (the rural capital of food and home to the Pork Pie and Stilton Cheese) and Grantham (the birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton and featuring parks with riverside walks) can both be accessed easily by car along the A607 or by Centrebus service 8, which stops not 2 minutes walk from the property.
If you fancy venturing slightly further afield, Belvoir Castle can be driven to in less than 15 minutes and has some lovely gardens and a selection of independent eateries and shops in the ‘Engine Yard’.
Rutland Water is nearby if you’re looking for a spot of fishing or just somewhere to go for a stroll, cycling, water sports or picnic.
Belton Woods, a National Trust property, is also worth a visit and is located just the other side of Grantham.
There is free on-street parking just outside the property.
