You will start your mornings here at the Algonquin Mad River Lodge by hearing and seeing the Madawaska River as it flows below the landing outside your windows. You will be able to enjoy the night sky as a panoramic canvas with no street lights to impede the natural beauty. Algonquin Park is 7 minutes away and there is lots of water and trails in close proximity to the Lodge. It’s beautiful here. From every window you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the wilderness and of the Madawaska River. Mad River Lodge is located in the woods and therefore there are no close neighbours or street lights. The town is walking distance along a beautiful river side trail system. There is a nice landing that you will have to enjoy the views right outside your door. The sounds from the river and birds are beautiful. For the outdoor adventure folks, the recreational trail system is at the end of the driveway. This is a beautiful trail following the Madawaska River, shared by hikers, bikers, and motorized recreational vehicles. Note: there are insects like mosquitoes, black-flies, house flies and ants during different seasons and conditions.
