This is a 240 acre working cattle farm in the central valley. It is 15 minutes to Atenas, 1/2 hour from SJO airport and 50 minutes to beaches. It is a very different experience being so close to everything and yet far from the hubbub with forests, views, trails and plenty to do or just relax and enjoy the fresh air and spectacular views. A wide array of birds and wildlife. Trails to walk. This is an elegant outdoors experience. Weather is terrific. The guest house is a two story building with a very large bedroom with a king size bed and a twin. There are two full bathrooms, and full kitchen. This is outdoor living with the convenience of open spaces that allow to be outside while covered from the sun. A large pool, parking area, laundry and plenty of space to relax in different settings.

My husband and I recently completed a wonderful two-day stay at Rancho Montecito. The scenery from the farm is breath taking with views of the whole Central Valley and the far distant volcanoes. We walked through untouched old growth forest and hiked up rugged trails to the top of the farm. The accommodation was everything I had hoped for. Windows and sliding doors that opened all the way brought the out-of-doors into the living area with fresh breezes and bird sounds. Outside were comfortable seating and tables. The swimming pool was top notch, and the view from the pool was gorgeous. The property is located on a working cattle ranch. Debbie, the owner, lives on site and is quick to answer any questions. I highly recommend this booking and look forward to our return.

This is a rural area yet so close to many attractions. It is about 25 minutes to the SJO airport and the capital San Jose, 50 minutes to Pacific beaches and Poas volcano. There are many day trips to enjoy. This property is an excellent base. The town of Atenas is about 15 minutes away for groceries, gas, restaurants, shops, etc.
