Situated in one of the dress circle addresses of Wellington, this house provides gorgeous accommodation with the most outstanding views over the city. With its beautiful kitchen/family room equipped for the chef, separate lounge and dining room, entertainment room, and front veranda/conservatory, this home which is close to the botanic gardens and the cable car offers quick access to the CBD and restaurants and bars without the associated noise of staying within the CBD. Built in 1905, our home is a beautifully renovated villa, lovingly cared for, and has four large, comfortable bedrooms and different living spaces, including a large sun-drenched deck. Our home is an elegant old villa and, apart from the kitchen, is not state of the art and shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear and gentle aging. Eleanor is an artist with many of her paintings hanging in the house which we hope you enjoy (@Eleanor Somerset Art). Our home is beautifully furnished with four large bedrooms. One with a super-king bed, two bedrooms with queen sized beds, and one bedroom with a double bed. There are three bathrooms, two en-suite, and a separate loo.

This was a fantastic fit for our multi-generational family vacation! We were a group of eight, including three generations - our children (aged 11, 13, and 17), myself, my wife, my mom, and my wife's parents. Here's a glimpse into what everyone loved. Our children, ranging from 11 to 17 years old, all had something wonderful to say. Youngest: "Cozy, warm, spacious, and clean!" Middle Child: "Welcoming and comfortable." Teenager: "Big, elegant, warm, and clean." My wife was particularly impressed by the breathtaking views, describing the house as "spacious, warm, lush, and luxurious." The host was friendly and made us feel right at home. For me, it truly lived up to its description – a home away from home. The spaciousness comfortably accommodated all seven of us, allowing everyone to have their own space to relax. The warmth (both literal and figurative) made it a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway!
Good house
Fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to meet the needs of our family during our stay. Gorgeous elevated character home within walking distance via the historic Wellington cable car to the inner city but so peaceful at night. The views over Wellington city are stunning and the home has everything you need to relax with plenty of space for the family to spread out. The personal cable car from the roadside up to the sunroom was a novel and memorable way to enter the home. We would certainly recommend this beautiful home to other travellers.
We loved this house, it’s perfect for entertaining family for dinner . We were at a family event in Wellington which meant cooking every meal, the kitchen was amazing, the view was special . But most of all the host was kind and responsive. They went out of their way to make it perfect for us . Cheers The Speranta Family
