I travel to Maine at least six times a year and normally stay at the same place because it is pet friendly. I wasn’t able to get the room I normally book because it was already booked which turned out to be my good fortune. It forced me to check out AIRBNB….and I found Derby Place. Instead of 1 tiny room at my normal place, I had an entire house and a big back yard. It was well appointed with everything you need in the kitchen, clean spacious bedrooms, a big bathroom with great water pressure, and a comfortable clean living area. The owners left fresh bagels and the best donuts I’ve ever had in my lifetime! There was coffee, cream, sugar and sugar substitutes. All the creature comforts to make anyone’s stay perfect. Everything was immaculate! The owners were extremely detailed with instructions and answered all my questions promptly! No surprises. Great experience and this will now be my go to place whenever I travel to central Maine. Thank you for sharing your lovely home ♥️

As avid stargazers we’d been looking forward to the total solar eclipse of 2024 for some time, and to avoid the inevitable traffic involved, planned a two night getaway in one of our favorite states. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice of accommodations, as we fell in love with Derby Place the instant we stepped inside. Immaculate, freshly painted throughout, and tastefully decorated, we found this comfy and inviting home to be the model of old style New England simplicity and charm. Among many unusually thoughtful touches which we truly appreciated and made our stay all the more memorable, were fresh flowers in every room, delicious pastries left for us to enjoy and, perhaps most notably, a pair of eclipse glasses for each of us ! From two days of beautiful weather to viewing nature’s spectacle unfold from the yard and much more, it turned out to be one of those brief but unforgettable vacations that clicked in every way, and due in no small way to this lovely home.
