I stayed at Rio Dos Elephantes with 4 adults and 10 children. there was obviously plenty in the region to do being right next to Kruger Np but there was also plenty to keep us occupied at the camp. the sleeping facilities were large and comfortable, the Braai area was well appointed, the staff were all lovely, polite and helpful. there was lenty if wildlife visible from tue camp being right on the river and the guided tour was well worth the early morning as we saw a black Rhino and a Lion (there were elephants, hippos and giraffes galore. I would highly recommend Rio Dos Elwphantes to both family groups or couples as a fantastic and unique getaway.

Doesn't meet the expectations according to description and photos, lacked basic amenities such as kitchenette, towels and hot water. Great opportunity to see big-5 on game-drives with knowledgeable and passionate guide. Host antagonistic, unprofessional and became extremely defensive regarding amenities.

Des Olifantes is super. I love Africa and this weekend I remembered again why. Agnes’s is a super host and a good cook. Drickus the games ranger has very good knowledge of the animals and birds. The coffee at sunrise during the game drive was a great idea! We highly recommend that you visit Des Olifantes !

The best Bush Holiday ever! Rio Dos Elefantes is a gem, situated next to the Olifants River (hence the name) in Balule Game Park which is in the Greater Kruger Park. YES the Big 5 are there! Agnes is host and owner extraordinaire and personally gets to know everyone, I walked away family. This private bush camp offers it all, swimming pool, lapa, decks overlooking the river. All day animals and birds come past, even on relaxing days you get to see it all. They offer Self-catering or catered (I took catered - STRONGLY RECOMMENDED). Home-baked breads, lots of great South African dishes with delicious puddings! Drikus the resident game Ranger offers Balule game drives, River tours and guided Kruger Park safaris. He is amazing, and genuinely passionate about sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for nature. I learnt about the entire ecosystem while finding animals. I am already planning my return.
